Public Display of Affection

A Public Display of Affection to say Thank You  to a dear friend...

Roger Mucci

Roger Mucci

Roger Mucci is a dear friend who I introduced to ActiveRain when he first started 'Shaken With a Twist"

While I have been just dipping my toes in the puddles, Roger has been truly dancing in the Rain and making big splashes!

I have really been wanting to get consistent and become a better blogger, so when I saw  Karen Bernetti"s Post about her 30 day challenge  and her invitation to join her, I thought what the heck - this could be my ticket to making this work.

I shared my goal with my friend Roger and asked him to kick my butt in gear!  So now I get text messages from him that read    BLOG OR FLOG    YOU CHOOSE!      LOL, just like him, no?

I choose to blog!  Never did like pain!

So, I have been blogging away every day for the past 5 days.  This officially makes my 5th post in a row.  Woohoo!    So last night after posting, I noticed I got some visits.  And let me tell you, I get so I excited when I get a visit and a comment, so I was very excited about my 3 visits.  Then I pop on over to Roger's blog to see what he wrote for the day and lo and behold he has another zillion comments on his posts.

And honestly, I want the same thing -  And if everyone reading this is honest, they do too!  So, I asked Rog, what are you doing?  How are you doing this?  And as a dear friend always does, he said let me help you.   He went on to explain how he has gotten really involved in the Rain, how he spent a lot of time searching around to make good friends and that I just needed to put myself out there.  He could teach a class on how to make friends in the social media world.

It is really too funny because I am shy and don't normally put myself out there in real life and I guess it carried over to social media life too!  (Although, most people who know me would never say I was shy and that is because once you get to know me, you can't shut me up - The initial getting to know people and putting myself out there has never been good for me  -  I have to really force myself to meet new people and try different things)

Roger being Roger took complete charge-  he calls me up and says take these names down, now go to my blog and find them and then subscribe to their blog,  read them everyday and make comments, interact with them, make friends and oh yeah, make sure you tell them I sent you.    He has soooooooooooooo many friends, I barely got through the list!     Roger did not just stop at giving me some great advice - he went and wrote a post about me to introduce me to his friends.  Naturally, in his fun and witty way!      Isn't that just the sweetest thing!!!

That is who he is, kindness to his very soul!

Roger, you are a dear friend to many!  Your kindness and generosity is endless!  You truly bring joy to those you know!  God has graced me with your friendship and I am very grateful!!!

I know today will be a rough day for you, I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and your mom too!  As you make your way through this day, just know you are loved!

     Thank you with flower

Roger's a great guy. Since he found me or I found him (who can remember?) we've shared emails, subscribed to each other's blogs and, simply put, become friends.

Hello Christine,  I think you've got it.  (with a british accent)  Roger sent me.

I've been around a while.  In the business and in the rain.  But Roger inspires us all.  I'm so glad he came on board and I'm so glad he introduces people like us to each other.  I'm subscribing to your blog and I'm going back to read some more so I'll get to know you.

Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for visiting and writing a note, I am most appreciative!

Nice to meet you too Marian, I've subscribed to you too.  And I am trying harder through Roger's teachings to mix it up more, so the earlier posts are boring and now I know to sprinkle them throughout.

Christine - Such a nice tribute to Roger.  So you're the one we need to thank for bringing Roger on board - thank you!  I first noticed Roger when he was writing about design stuff on Stage it Forward.  I agreed with everything he had to say from a design point of view, and realized quickly that he really knows his craft.  Then he started to write about more personal things, and I was drawn in.

I'm exactly like you.  I'm really very shy, but I force myself in public, so people seem surprised when I confess that deep down inside I'm shy.  I'm also very reserved, and find it hard to share or talk about really personal things.  That's really exciting that you're doing this 30 day challenge.  What I really like is that your posts aren't lame - there's real substance to them.  Keep on writing - remember, Blog or Flog!!!  Yikes. I'm pressing the subscribe button...

Wow, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes for several, because of this wonderful tribute to me, how very sweet of you Christine.........your kindness and friendship really means a lot to me, and you know I am always willing to help any way I can..........I have made some wonderful friends on AR and it's truly a pleasure to share them with you.  You have helped me so much with Shaken...with a Twist that what I did to help you out here pales by comparison..........I truly thank you.

Reason number two.........I just came back from working on my new digs and supervising carpet installation in two other rental units........just about everything of my Mom's is gone, they moved her to my brother's house today.  It was very difficult to walk into the house and not have her be here, and to see most of her things not where they always were.............the saddest part is, she never wanted to leave this house "standing"............she always said she would be carried out and her next home would be All Souls Cemetery........she didn't get her wish.

Great tribute to Roger.....and he didn't even have to wait until he was dead! That's the best kind. LOL

I haven't known Roger long but what a funny, witty and supportive friend I have already.

Hi Christine!  I'm reading this and thinking, "Wow!  This could be written by me!"  I'm also very shy at putting myself out there on the internet.  I do it.  But it is painful.  (smile)  They say the more we do it the less scary it is and the easier it becomes.

I'm supposed to be writing my blog right now.  I'm also taking the 30 day challange and this is day one.  First, I'll go over and read what Roger wrote, and then I seriously have to get to work on writing.  Today has been kind of emotional with the passing of Laurie Manning.  Kind of got me reflecting.  But... I wanted to give you another comment so you would feel good.

Let's get out of our shell.  I'm shy, but I'm not shy.  If you get my drift.  I think you do.  How could we be in this kind of business if we were shy?  Right?  Let's call it stage fright.
